Our Process

Here's an insight into how we'll take care of your wedding booking:
 
1. GETTING TO KNOW YOU


Fill out our wedding questionnaire form so we can get to know you! We’ve made a handy form to make it easy for you to give us as much information about your big day as possible. Bonus points if you send us your Pinterest board or inspo images!

2. QUOTE & ACCEPTANCE

Once we’ve received all the juicy details of your wedding, we can get to work on creating a quote just for you. If you’re happy with the quote, go ahead and accept it and secure your order with a booking fee. If it needs more work, let us know and we’ll happily revise it.

3. FINALISE ORDER


4-6 weeks prior to your wedding we’ll send you a full confirmation email with your current order. This gives you an opportunity to check over everything and make any last-minute changes before it’s too late.

4. WEDDING DAY


It’s finally here! Time to enjoy your big day, the Brisbane Market Flowers team will have everything under control, with your order ready to be picked up or delivered.

Do you deliver and set up?

We can certainly set up and install arbour and table arrangements for you. Installation and delivery fees can vary significantly depending on the location of your wedding, the amount of flowers being delivered/installed and the complexity of the installation. Arbour arrangements include a ribbon so venue coordinators, family or friends can tie them up if you wish.

Can I collect the day before?

Sure! Our bouquets are all packaged in water containers, so just keep them in a cool room away from direct sunlight where they can’t be disturbed. Air conditioning is preferred but not absolutely necessary.

How do I secure my wedding booking?

We require a minimum booking fee of $250 or 25% (whichever is greater) to secure your booking.

When do I have to finalise my order?

Orders must be finalised no later than 4 weeks prior to your wedding date.

When is my final payment due?

Final payment is due 2 weeks prior to your wedding date.

If Brisbane Market Flowers create my bouquets, can I DIY my own table arrangements?

This is a great idea if you’re on a tight budget! Your bridal bouquet will be in most of your wedding photos, while your reception flowers will only be in a few. Go for it!

Can I make my own bouquets?

If you’ve got the urge to let your creativity run wild, we won’t stop you! As we are only supplying flowers, you’ll just need to work out what varieties you want, how many bunches you need and let us know.

What if the flowers I want aren’t available?

We do our very best to ensure that we can provide exactly what you've asked for. Due to the seasonal nature of flowers and recent supply chain interruptions out of our control, this can sometimes result in us needing to substitute some of the flowers in your order. Thankfully there are always beautiful alternatives available throughout the year, so keep an open mind and we’re sure you’ll love what we come up with just as much.

Where are you located?

Inside the Brisbane Flower Market, in Rocklea- we are the first stop on your right. Plenty of public parking available - and there's a coffee stand next door too!

Before asking for a quote, do I need my colours, theme and vibe sorted?

Yes please! We highly recommend you have your overall theme and colour palette finalised to ensure we can quote you accordingly, as seasonal flowers vary and this could affect availability and colour selections we offer and quote on.

Do you do wedding deliveries outside greater Brisbane ie: the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba?

Absolutely - When travelling outside the Brisbane metro area, there is an additional travel fee ( based on KMs) to cover the cost of fuel, vehicle costs, insurances and staff hours.

Do you provide hire items like plinths or other styling items like candles?

Vases and floral vessels included in your quote are purchased by you and inclusive, these do not need returning. We don’t hire any other styling items and recommend you ask your venue coordinator to point you to a recommended vendor they work with.

Does Brisbane Market Flowers have a minimum spend?

Yes, our minimum spend is $3,000.

What is the cutoff time for same-day delivery?

Our cutoff time for same-day delivery is 12pm (midday) from Monday - Friday. Saturday deliveries we require more notice though so please have your orders in by the previous day. For more info, check out our terms & conditions page.

Where in Brisbane do you deliver?

We offer local flower delivery to most of the Brisbane region. Delivery costs do vary from suburb to suburb. To see if your suburb is covered and how much it will be, please use our shipping calculator in the checkout.

What if you don't deliver to my area?

We do our best to deliver to as many suburbs in Brisbane as we can, but some might be just a bit too far to be cost-effective for our customers. To check whether we deliver to your suburb, use the shipping calculator in our checkout.

How much are your delivery fees?

Delivery fees vary from suburb to suburb. Please use the shipping calculator in our checkout to get an accurate, up-to-date quote.

Can I organise delivery for a specific time?

Our couriers routes are based on efficiency so we can't guarantee a specific time. That being said, we do our best to work with our customers to ensure the smoothest possible delivery process. If you have a specific delivery request, give us a call on 07 3278 0266 and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

What if no one is home to accept delivery?

Don't worry! If nobody is home, we'll try to find a safe, cool area out of direct sunlight to leave your flowers. While it's always best to ensure someone is home we understand that sometimes this doesn't always go to plan!

Your flowers will have water in them to temporarily prevent them from drying out, but if you know that nobody will be home to accept the order, we recommend adding a vase to your order for a bit more of a buffer.

If we can't find a safe or shady spot to leave your flowers, we'll contact the recipient to arrange a better time. This may incur an additional fee.

Does Brisbane Market Flowers do weddings or events?

You bet! Check out our weddings page for more info, and get in touch with us for any event you might have in mind. Please note that we have a $3,000 minimum spend for all weddings.

Are you open Sunday or Monday?

We are open Monday - Saturday, but are closed on Sundays.

What if some (or all) of what I ordered isn't available?

We do our very best to ensure that we can provide exactly what you've ordered. Due to the seasonal nature of flowers and recent supply chain interruptions out of our control, this can sometimes result in us needing to substitute some of the flowers in your order.

Rest assured we will substitute flowers with equal or greater value. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Should I buy the man in my life flowers?

YES. Normalise giving men flowers!

Here’s a few tips to keep your fresh cut flowers looking great for longer!

Trim Your Stems

With sharp scissors, trim the ends of the stems at an angle. This provides the flower a larger surface area to absorb water to keep it happy and healthy.

Move Them To A Vase

Put your flowers in a vase ¾ filled with fresh, clean, room-temperature water.
Pro Tip: A cap of bleach added to the water will kill any bacteria that might cause your flowers to prematurely expire.

Stay Hydrated

Ensure the water in their vase doesn’t dry up! On hot days you might be surprised at how thirsty your flowers can be, and how quickly the water in their vase can evaporate.

Only Stems In The Water

Keep loose foliage and debris from below the water line. Not only does it look untidy, decaying foliage in the water can breed nasty bacteria.

Change The Water & Re-Trim

Every few days, change the water and re-trim your stems. Re-trimming helps your flowers maintain their ability to drink water, and just like us humans, we prefer fresh, clean water to drink!

Sunlight Not Required

It might sound strange, but cut flowers don’t need sunlight to live. Sometimes this can actually dry them out quicker, so it’s best to keep them out of direct sunlight and in a cool area.

Climate Control

You can place flowers anywhere in your house, but it’s best to keep them away from air conditioners blowing directly onto them, or in the presence of heaters.

Keep Away From Fruit & Veggies

While it may be enticing to stage your own modern interpretation of a Van Gough, it’s best to keep fruit and vegetables away from your flowers. The (harmless) gas they emit actually shortens the life of your flowers, so it’s probably best to stick to chocolate – don’t mind if we do!
